Colorful Westpommern
If you had to describe Westpommern with colors, they would be green, blue, gold and red. Green stands for the nature of Westpommern - forests, parks, old avenues and nature reserves, nature parks and natural monuments characterize the landscape of the Polish neighboring region. The blue color of the clear rivers, lakes and ponds is surpassed only by the deep blue sea. Almost continuously lined by a golden sandy beach, the coastline of Westpommern runs 185 kilometers to the east. On the way in the region, architectural monuments appear in red, including romantic and gothic objects, buildings in the style of the Renaissance and later construction objects such as characteristic half-timbered and fieldstone churches. Cities such as Szczecin and Swinoujscie offer close cultural and natural experiences not far from the German-Polish border.
Nature experiences and activities
Those who travel in Westpommern should definitely not be frightened by the free-roaming herds of bison. As the king of animals in Westpommern, they are a symbol of the region's untouched nature. Especially at the Pojezierze Wałeckie lake district, the "European bison" can be easily observed.
