Kröslin
Maritime has a long tradition here: First mentioned in a document as "Crasselin" in 1228, the harbor town has been welcoming bathers for over 100 years.
The small town of Kröslin on the Peene River became more and more important, especially due to the increasing relevance of fishing from 1900 onwards. The growing fishing industry also led to a significant increase in the number of inhabitants.
Kröslin is located in the nature park of the island of Usedom and offers many excursion possibilities such as hiking along the coast, in the adjacent forest or cycling on the Baltic Coast Cycle Path. In addition, the excursion boats and fishermen in the port of Freest offer trips on the Baltic Sea! Treat yourself for a change!
The municipality of Kröslin also includes the island of Greifswalder Oie in the Baltic Sea and the island of Ruden off the mouth of the Peene River. Both islands can be reached by excursion boat. Access to these nature reserves is limited.
The church in Kröslin dates back to the 13th century and is always worth a visit. Also worth seeing is the altar carpet knotted in Freest. Measuring 4 meters long and 2 meters wide, it is one of the largest Pomeranian fishing carpets made in the region.
Kröslin's main attraction today is the marina. A large maritime facility offers water sports enthusiasts and vacationers attractive recreational facilities and quality services. In the marina, recreational captains can look forward to a large recreational and wellness facility. Small stores, a tapas bar and a post office are waiting for you there. Furthermore, recreational facilities such as a miniature golf course and a playground are available. Excursions into the surrounding area are possible with bicycles from the local rental station.
