The Uecker
The Uecker rises in the neighboring state of Brandenburg and, as its name suggests, flows into Ueckermünde. And along this Pomeranian river you can expect a lot of nature, joy and relaxation in the greenery.
In the Brandenburg part, the river still bears the name "Ucker". The river name is closely connected with the Slavic tribe of the Ukrans named after the river, who had a fortified trading center in Oberuckersee on Burgwallinsel.
The 98-kilometer-long Uecker is ideal for water sports enthusiasts. An idyllic river course without lurid corners promises breathtaking flora and fauna. A canoe, paddle or raft trip allows you to admire the riverbank from the water side and be part of a natural beauty without really intruding or disturbing it.
In many places along the river, water tour rest areas offer motorboats or canoes for rent. Mystical is the old ship graveyard that you will encounter while paddling on the Uecker near Ueckermünde.
