The pine forest, which extends behind the beach, holds the wind off the attractive cliff and offers a wonderful view of the pier. The surrounding area and the beach are also ideal for cycling and foot hikes. The newly renovated great beach promenade is also a very popular excursion and recreation destination. It is an attractive eye -catcher between the remarkable elegant old villas, the wonderful pine forest and the infinitely long white sandy beach. Numerous hotels, holiday apartments of each category and motorhome parking spaces directly on the beach leave nothing to be desired. Restaurants and shops are also located near the pier.
Route of North German Romanticism: Sebad Lubmin - The coast in Friedrich's field of view
The landmark of the Lubmin seaside resort is the 350 meter long pier reaching into the Bodden. Lubmin is the only seaside resort in the Greifswald Bodden and a popular holiday destination for families. At that time most of the residents of the village were farmers, there was no sufficient sea bay for a beach fishing. In 1801, Caspar David Friedrich went on the first trip. In his picture "View from the south coast of Rügen", in addition to the villages of Wusterhusen, Wolgast and the island, he also noted the Prussian side and thus made a differentiation to Swedish-Pomerania. The seaside resort of Lubmin is not mentioned by name, although it already existed on cards at that time. It was probably because Lubmin and Wusterhusen lie on the same airline from its focus.

Barrier -free fishing place on the Recknitz
From now on, Petri disciples with handicap barrier -free fish can also catch fish on the river bank of the Recknitz between Marlow and Semlow. Anglers with a rollator or in a wheelchair reach a fortified path to the water edge.
In the idyllic river area of the Recknitz, just behind Marlow on the L 18, the road to Semlow, the handicapped -friendly fishing court is located. It can be reached from the street via a fortified access and flows into a small parking lot, sufficient for a good two cars. From there, people can get to the water directly with handicap barrier -free. In the course of the construction work, the bank was secured and a platform made of natural water modules was built. It is surrounded by a railing that protects against rolling or slipping and is lowered in the middle so that the anglers can easily exhaust their rods while sitting. From the water up to this elevated platform, a slide for fish leads so that our handicapped Petri disciples can land their catch unhindered.
This beautiful fishing place may be used by all people. However, those with physical disabilities have priority, for them they have to be made immediately. In the water hiking rest area next to it, guests of this new fishing area can also be looked after at the same time, receive help, advice and practical tips as well as fishing permits.
