Brick Gothic and museums

Wolgast is part of the European Route of Brick Gothic (EUROB), which combines a common cultural heritage of the countries of Poland, Denmark and Germany. The Gertrudenkapelle and the St. Petri Church, from whose church tower (184 levels) visitors can enjoy a fantastic view from a 40 meter height over Volgast to the island of Usedom, are considered Wolgaster Eurob-Bauen. The three-aisled basilica from the 14th century was once the Hofkirche of the Dukes to Pomerania-Wolgast. With the city -historical museum "KaffeeMühle", the Museum Rununghaus and the ferry "Stralsund" there is also a noteworthy museum landscape in Wolgast.
Special accommodations and maritime flair
In terms of overnight stay, Wolgast trumps with family-friendly accommodations and unusual overnight accommodation for group and school trips, for example in the postel or 100haus Wolgast. Due to the location of the Peenestrom, Volgast is also a traditional port location. The city harbor spreads an impressive maritime flair. Passenger ships such as the traditional sailor "Weisse Dune" start on excursions into the roller water and to the Greifswald Bodden.
Cycling/hiking trails and romance
Whether Hanseatic path , Baltic Sea bike path or the route of North German Romantic -many long-distance paths and thematic tours run through or after Wolgast. Three stations of the route of North German Romanticism are devoted to the history of Volgast and the best -known son of the city - the artist Philipp Otto Runge.
