The Hanseatic League was a medieval bundle of trade cities, which promoted the economic exchange and security of its members. Cities in Western Pomerania also joined the trading association. Today's Vorpommers Hanseatic Cities Greifswald, Stralsund, Anklam and Demmin are characterized by their architecture with castles, manor houses and churches that shine in old splendor. Beautiful and well -preserved historical buildings and city fortifications are still visible today.
