The fishing village of Freest is located directly at the Peenemunst to the Greifswald Bodden and houses the largest fishing port in Mecklenburg Vorpommern. The oldest smokehouse in front of the Pomerania is also near the port. There is fresh fish in the early morning directly at the fisherman or you enjoy it on site in one of the restaurants that have both traditional and more unusual specialties on offer.
A passenger ferry to Peenemünde offers you the opportunity to reach the island of Usedom within a very short time and without detours. Excursions on the islands, rudies and complaints can also be undertaken from the port freest.
