Torgelow

Torgelow is located in the middle of the Ueckermünder Heide, surrounded by lush green, and thus offers you ideal conditions for hikes and bike tours through the enchanting landscape.

Historical

The location at one of the narrowest river transition points has extremely favored the exchange of goods with the then immigrating German peoples, which the name Torgelow, ie "retail square or location" from the Slavic, describes very aptly.

At medieval times, Torgelow was long part of the Electorate of Brandenburg. In 1493, however, it was struck to the Duchy of Pomerania. Even today, the medieval time is reminiscent of the medieval time, the stories and saying about the noble Zacharias Hase at Kufstein. The latter once ruled the Torgelow office until he was finally referred to the country's robber knight.

Experience history

You can get an insight into the Slavic period of Western Pomerania in the Ukranenland Torgelow. Huts from clay and historical boats put you back into the time of the Ukranes. The Uecker flows across Torgelow. At the boat rental you can borrow various canoes and motor boats and explore the landscape from the water side. On a tour of Torgelow you will also pass the Christuskirche. The neo-Gothic church was built in the 19th century and impressed with its large colored sanctuary windows and the southernmost Mehmel organ. You can find bathing fun in the adventure and heath of Torgelow. Young and old can be maintained with a 55m giant slide.
